Brasschaat - De Inslag (LTER_EU_BE_001)

The research site (surface 2 ha) is situated in a Scots pine stand (Pinus sylvestris L.) and comprises a measuring tower and a permanent intensive forest condition monitoring plot (ICP Forests Level II). The site is located in a high deposition area (due to neighbourhood of harbour of Antwerp, suburban traffic and the presence of distant livestock facilities). Monitoring of the effects of air pollution on forest condition and the study of the biogeochemical cycles are conducted by INBO. Measurements of the greenhouse gas fluxes are carried out by the University of Antwerp in collaboration with INBO.
